If Everton sell Oumar Niasse would he become a good FPL pickup?

With reports suggesting that Everton are looking to offload Senegalese forward Oumar Niasse for somewhere in the region of £13 million, and a few Premier League clubs showing an interest, could he suddenly become a viable Fantasy Premier League player pickup?

Rumours have it that Niasse is being tracked by the likes of Crystal Palace, Brighton and West Bromwich Albion – all teams struggling towards the foot of the table and desperate for the goals in the second half of the Premier  League season that could help them pull away from the dreaded drop zone and secure their place at English footballs top table for next season. The £13 million outlay for the forward, one imagines, is petty cash in comparison for the security of top flight football, should Niasse deliver – but for Fantasy Premier League managers all chasing their own glory, would Niasse become a viable option after a move away from Goodison Park, where he has accrued just 47 points to date and is currently valued at just £4.7 million on the FPL transfer market – a figure likely to stay the same should he move to any of the afore-mentioned teams?

OUMAR NIASSE – FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE PRODUCTION

  • 2015/16 – 6 points (143 mins played, 0 goals, 0 assists)
  • 2016/17 – 44 points (1096 mins played, 4 goals, 1 assist)
  • 2017/18 (to date) – 47 points (567 mins played, 5 goals, 2 assists)

There is no doubt that Niasse has potential to deliver, and may just get more joy being the focal point in attack rather than being more of a bit part player as seen at Everton. We particularly like his chances should he join up with Chris Hughton at Brighton, where they play a fast, expansive style of football, with the likes of Pascal Grob and Anthony Knockert providing the ammunition that Glenn Murray (59 points) and Tomer Hemed have enjoyed and benefitted from – indeed, the latter was very hot property from an FPL perspective before his ban that ruled him out for around a month.

For the price, Niasse could be a very nice pickup and started with regularity – but only should he make the anticipated move from Goodison Park. Currently just 3.9% of managers own Niasse….expect that number to increase should he get transferred.
