Fantasy Football Forwards to Play Gameweek 23

premier league, fantasy football, fpl, fantasy sports

Fantasy football forwards aren’t always the biggest scorers, but when you find one in-form, you can’t drop them. Gameweek 22 saw two players surprise everyone as they topped the forward points list.

Swansea’s Fernando Llorente finished with a 13 point haul. It was his third highest points total this season. Inconsistency has hurt the Spaniard throughout, however.

Andy Carroll also put in a 13 point performance, which was not only his best to date, but the first time he had reached double-digits this season. Unfortunately, he did pick up a knock and is 75% likely to play in gameweek 23.

Will either one make our top five selections for gameweek 23 or do we have surprises in store for you?

Harry Kane – Tottenham

Games: 14; Goals: 11; Total FPL points: 110

Harry Kane tallied an assist in gameweek 22’s draw against Manchester City. The fantasy football forward picked up five points as Spurs came from behind.

Gameweek 23 sees Kane and company take on Sunderland in midweek before clashing with Middlesbrough at the weekend. Still worth drafting in or keeping in your side, Kane should continue his points climb.

Diego Costa – Chelsea

Games: 20; Goals: 15; Total FPL points: 129

Diego Costa returned to the Chelsea line-up and tallied his league leading 15th goal against Hull in gameweek 22. The Spaniard has been consistent all season and he is extremely valuable to his side.

Chelsea have two extremely difficult games upcoming as the Blues travel to Anfield and then face off against Arsenal. Costa’s men lost both fixtures against the sides earlier this term, and a win is not guaranteed.

Costa only scored a combined seven points against Liverpool and Arsenal in gameweeks 5 and 6. Based on merit, however, he should be in your fantasy football team.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Manchester United

Games: 21; Goals: 14; Total FPL points: 132

Stymied at Stoke, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Manchester United pulled out a last second draw. The Red Devils will not have the same problems when they face Hull in gameweek 23.

Ibrahimovic should bully the Tigers throughout and he should have no problem picking up a bundle of points against the English Premier League’s second worst defence.

Fernando Llorente – Swansea

Games: 19; Goals: 8; Total FPL points: 79

Can Llorente continue his current form? Perhaps he can as Swansea take on Southampton, a team that have lost four of their last five.

Swansea take on Manchester City following their midweek clash against Southampton. It probably wouldn’t be a good idea to select him for that fixture, but based on gameweek 22’s performance, he is worth a punt against Southampton.

Keep in mind, Llorente tallied seven points against Manchester City last time around.

Romelu Lukaku – Everton

Games: 21; Goals: 12; Total FPL points: 117

Potential is everything when selecting your fantasy football team and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has plenty going into gameweek 23.

Everton play Stoke away and Lukaku is bound to improve his weekly points totals. Everton follow up the midweek fixture with games against Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. All of those matches are potentially perfect for gaining points.
