Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan was last week’s big midfield points winner. So, does he make our gameweek 25 midfielders list? He hasn’t made the cut yet this term, but there is no time like the present.
Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal
Games: 24; Goals: 15; Total FPL points: 168
Alexis Sanchez may be going through a rough patch at the moment, but it is only a matter of time until the Chilean rebounds. He has averaged three points per game over the last two gameweeks.
But the good news is Arsenal play Hull in gameweek 25. Despite the Tigers’ resurgence, Sanchez’s 10 point haul in their last meeting makes him a prime player to excel as one of your gameweek 25 midfielders.
Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Games: 23; Goals: 10; Total FPL points: 145
Speaking of rebounds, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard rebounded nicely last week with an 11 point display. The Blues have a lovely run of fixtures upcoming and it is important to get three Chelsea players in your FPL team each gameweek.
Chelsea should roll and solidify their Premier League title credentials over the next few weeks. Their next real test isn’t until April 5th against Manchester City, so be sure to make Hazard one of your gameweek 25 midfielders.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Manchester United
Games: 14; Goals: 3; Total FPL points: 47
Mkhitaryan is finally getting into form after missing a number of matches through injury this term. The Armenian has shown he can score goals when in the team and last weekend’s 14 point showing was his best of the season.
Whether he can do it again depends on how many minutes he gets in the coming weeks and if he can stay fit. Mkhitaryan is a wildcard at £8.8, but United’s next seven fixtures offer him the potential to accumulate a large amount of points.
Ross Barkley – Everton
Games: 22; Goals: 4; Total FPL points: 90
While Mkhitaryan offers potential, Ross Barkley returns to our must-have list for gameweek 25 midfielders. Barkley was in sparkling form against Bournemouth. The midfielder tallied 12 points as he scored a goal and added an assist in the Toffees 6-3 romp of the Cherries.
At only £7.0, Barkley has two gameweeks upcoming facing mediocre squads in Middlesbrough and Sunderland. Duplicating last week’s performance will be hard, but not out of the question.
Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City
Games: 23; Goals: 4; Total FPL points: 119
The Premier League assist leader is still hovering around the 120-point mark in FPL. City have won their last two fixtures while De Bruyne has averaged five points per gameweek. City’s next three see games against Bournemouth, Southampton and Stoke.
De Bruyne should walk into your gameweek 25 midfielders against Bournemouth’s defence who gave up six goals last week to Everton.
