Fantasy Premier League is full of hotshot midfielders this week after the play of Heung-Min Son and Eden Hazard a week ago. Both players were unstoppable and are shoo-ins to our FPL gameweek 33 top 5 midfielders list. Who will make up the other three spots? Let’s find out.
FPL Gameweek 33 top 5 midfielders
Heung-Min Son – Tottenham
Total FPL points: 134; GW 32: 19 points
Heung-Min Son isn’t a player many FPL and daily fantasy sports managers will draft into their teams on a weekly basis. Until Harry Kane’s most recent injury, Son had failed to put quality back-to-back weeks in for FPL managers. Rather hit and miss for most of the term, Son has finally put together a string of solid matches.
In his last three games, Son has tallied six, seven and 19 points, respectively. Although another 19 point outing is probably out of the question, he is one of our gameweek 33 top 5 midfielders. Spurs play Bournemouth and Crystal Palace in their next two matches. Potential for points is high.
Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Total FPL points: 191; GW 32: 10 points
Chelsea are about to enter a rough three match stretch with Manchester United, Southampton and Everton in the coming gameweeks. If I were to choose one Chelsea player for my FPL team during that time, it would be Hazard. The midfielder has tallied double digits in three of his last four gameweeks, and last time against United he posted eight points.
He has been Chelsea’s most consistent player over the last four to six weeks. Expect Hazard to continue his fine form and get the Blues to the title sooner rather than later.
Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace
Total FPL points: 131; GW 32: 11 points
Wilfried Zaha has posted 11 point gameweeks against Chelsea and Arsenal in the last month. Although he hasn’t played great against the lesser likes of the Premier League consistently, he has done the business versus the league’s top sides.
Crystal Palace face Leicester in gameweek 33. The Foxes play midweek in the Champions League and should lack match sharpness. In addition, Leicester are have won just once away from home in the Premier League this season. The Foxes have given up the third most goals (33) away from home this term. Pick Zaha to run wild.
Dele Alli – Tottenham
Total FPL points: 188; GW 32: 8 points
Dele Alli hasn’t done anything to make me change my mind on selecting him for our gameweek 33 top 5 midfielders list. He continues to be consistent for FPL and DFS managers notching six or more points in his last six games. Nothing else is to be said, except Spurs have winnable fixtures for the remainder of the year.
Roberto Firmino – Liverpool
Total FPL points: 5; GW 32: 155 points
Averaging 15 points in his last three gameweeks, Roberto Firmino shows potential going into the weekend. Liverpool face West Brom and the Brazilian is the focal point of the Reds’ side now that Sadio Mane is injured. Firmino is second in scoring with 10 goals for the Reds. He is also second in assists with six. Liverpool have scored the most goals this Premier League season (68), and a Reds’ player should get into your attack. Why not make it Firmino?
