Fantasy managers may be asking themselves which forward will score the most Premier League goals this week? Diego Costa and Christian Benteke were the big Premier League goals scorers in gameweek 34, so that makes them a shoo-in for gameweek 35, right?
FPL Gameweek 35 forwards to buy
Diego Costa – Chelsea
Total FPL points: 183; GW 34: 16 points
Diego Costa had a massive 16 point gameweek 34, which led him to being one of the top transfers of the Fantasy Premier League gameweek. Costa’s two goals and an assist helped him to top the fantasy best XI.
Chelsea play Everton in gameweek 35, and the Spaniard’s previous fixture against the Toffees this season saw him score a solid nine points. Costa is back on track for the most part and should get one or two Premier League goals this weekend.
Christian Benteke – Crystal Palace
Total FPL points: 124; GW 34: 14 points
Christian Benteke punished his former team Liverpool in gameweek 34 before featuring in a second match during the gameweek against Tottenham. The second fixture didn’t go quite as well, but Benteke’s points haul is good enough to get him in our top 5 forwards list.
Crystal Palace face Burnley and Benteke should build on his six point outing the last time the two sides met. Benteke has 14 goals this season and looks to have recovered from his time at Liverpool. He’ll set you back £7.3.
Manolo Gabbiadini – Southampton
Total FPL points: 32; GW 34: 5 points
Manolo Gabbiadini was a revelation for Southampton when he joined from Napoli in January. After starting off hot, he cooled due to injury, but he is getting back to his best.
Southampton play Hull in gameweek 35, and the Tigers have conceded the second most goals in the Premier League. Gabbiadini is good value for goals at just £6.4. Hull need to win to really stay above the relegation zone, so expect them to attack, but leave the backdoor open for Gabbiadini to grab some Premier League goals.
Harry Kane – Tottenham
Total FPL points: 169; GW 34: 4 points
Harry Kane may have only tallied four points against Crystal Palace, but I wouldn’t want anyone else in my side right now. Spurs are giving Chelsea everything they can to overtake the Premier League lead. It may not be enough, but it is going to be exciting.
For my money, I would get three attacking Tottenham players in my fantasy team, even with Spurs playing Arsenal at the weekend. There are going to be fireworks at White Hart Lane and a repeat of Kane’s eight point performance at the Emirates earlier this season wouldn’t be a shock.
Sergio Aguero – Manchester City
Total FPL points: 139; GW 34: N/A points
Sergio Aguero will be coming off the midweek Manchester Derby when the Blues take on Middlesbrough in gameweek 35. Middlesbrough are fighting for their Premier League lives, but City should take care of them without any difficulty.
Aguero has been consistent over his last five Premier League games before the derby. Expect him to continue to tally steady points as Manchester City roll over Middlesbrough and Aguero scores more Premier League goals. The forward tallied six points the last time the two sides met. He has the potential for more as always.
