Arsenal are on the verge of selling often injured midfielder Jack Wilshere and Italian side Sampdoria could be his destination. The Italian team has offered Arsenal a cut-price fee of £9 million, as Arsene Wenger is ready to get rid of the player.
Wilshere, 25, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, where he played 27 matches for the Cherries. In the midfielder’s 27 appearances, he played a full 90 minutes 14 times. The Englishman is currently valued at £15.3m by one transfer expert website. However, Wilshere has seen his value drop considerably from a few years ago.
According to reports from both Italy and England, Serie A’s Sampdoria want to buy the player ahead of next season’s domestic competition. Despite the club’s interest, Wilshere is said to want to stay with Arsenal and fight for a place. However, Arsene Wenger has already told the midfielder he faces a difficult battle to win a place in the squad.
Arsenal are currently trying to bring in a host of new players as Wenger attempts a charge to get the Gunners back into the top four.
West Ham are still interested in landing Wilshere as well.
