Liverpool have agreed to sell midfielder Kevin Stewart to English Championship side Hull City for a reported £8 million.
Stewart joined Liverpool in 2014 on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur. During his Liverpool stay, Stewart played just 11 Premier League matches for the Reds.
While he is expected to leave Anfield for £8m, a great piece of business by the Reds who signed him for free, one transfer valuation website has rated the midfielder at just £850,000. Stewart has flown back to the England from Liverpool’s Asian tour to finalise his transfer to Hull.
Once the news of the impending deal broke, fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts and opinions on the move.
Twitter reacts to Liverpool selling Kevin Stewart:
Inflation football style. Idrissa Gana Gueye cost £7.2m this time last year. Kevin Stewart (11 PL apps) going to Hull for £8m this summer.

Kevin Stewart. Signed on a free after being released by Tottenham. Sold a couple of years down the line for £8m. That's good solid business

Sounds like new signings for City will be Kevin Stewart, Ryan Kent, Cameron Brannagan, Tomas Kalas and Frazier Campbell.

Kevin Stewart is an excellent signing for Hull. Mature lad, disciplined player, good attitude. Should stand out in Championship.

Hull have already re-signed Frazier Campbell on a free transfer this summer, as the Tigers have overhauled their squad this summer, releasing and selling several players. The team are trying to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, after finishing 18th in last season’s English Premier League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s £8m profit on Stewart will most likely go into the transfer fee the Reds will pay for Hull’s Andrew Robertson. The two sides are in talks over the left-back’s move to Anfield, currently. The fee is expected to be around £10m for the Scottish international.
The Reds’ sale of Kevin Stewart may open up space in midfield for the addition of RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.
