According to news reports from Selhurts Park, Crystal Palace have sacked manager Frank de Boer after losing his first four matches in charge at the club. The Eagles have not only lost all four matches, but are the only team in the division to not score a goal this term.
De Boer took over the club in the summer following a terrible spell in charge of Inter Milan that lasted just 85 days. The coach has now been removed as Palace coach after a mere 77 days at the helm.
Despite several media members calling for Crystal Palace to have patience with the manager, the players haven’t responded to De Boer’s new playing style.
In August, former Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman was appointed sporting director at the club. At the time, FantasySports.co.uk, reported on De Boer’s job being in trouble. It was believed, Freedman would takeover as manager of the Eagles, if De Boer was sacked.
According to reports, Freedman will not be the man tasked with managing the team, however. The Mirror is reporting that former England national team manager, Roy Hodgson is set to take the reins of Crystal Palace.
Paddy Power has place Hodgson at 1/7 to be appointed as the team’s new boss, while Burnley’s Sean Dyche is a surprise 7/1. Sporting director Freedman is at odds of 10/1 to return to the bench.
