Arsenal to replace Mesut Ozil with the next Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil looks very likely to be leaving Arsenal, with him showing no interest in discussing a new contract, and the hunt is already on for his replacement – with a player who has the same heritage as Ozil being a name heavily linked with the Gunners.

Turkish youngster Yusuf Yazici is just 20 years old and is playing for his hometown club Trabzonspor and is already an integral part of the team – notching 6 goals and 10 assists last season.

Ozil was born in Germany and of course is a German international, but has Turkish heritage – Yazici is being dubbed the next ‘Ozil’ and, according to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, Arsenal are showing a keen interest in the youngster, with some reports going as far as to state the Gunners have already tabled a bid in the region of £14 million.

But any thoughts that Arsenal might get a free run at the player should be shelved, as Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also very interested in signing Yazici and will look to tempt the player with a huge wage and the potential of Champions League football – something which Arsenal cannot do this season and potentially beyond.

Mesut Ozil remains inextricably linked with Manchester United and a move to Italy, with both Milan clubs showing an interest in taking the enigmatic midfielder away from the Emirates.
