Tottenham Hotspur supporters aim anger towards Kieran Trippier

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier has come under fire after putting in a woeful performance in Saturday’s FA Cup clash against Newport.

Spurs were able to salvage a 1-1 draw, but needed a late Harry Kane goal to finish level. After the match, Tottenham fans took to social media to question whether Trippier is deserving of his spot in the side.

Trippier was expected to takeover the position when Kyle Walker was sold to Manchester City. However, Trippier hasn’t made the position his own as yet. Serge Aurier was purchased from Paris Saint-Germain to play at right-back, but Trippier got the starting nod on Saturday.

However, it wasn’t just Trippier who put in a poor performance. Several Tottenham supporters posted on Twitter about which player had been the worst of the worst during the 90 minutes. It was Trippier that got the most criticism from Tottenham supporters.

Tottenham will host Newport in a replay at Wembley. It will be one of four replays to come in the fourth round. Two more matches will take place today in the FA Cup.

Was Kieran Trippier to blame for Tottenham’s poor performance? What was Mauricio Pochettino thinking selling Kyle Walker?
