West Ham defender Patrice Evra posted a photo of a bloody injury he sustained against Liverpool. The defender’s wound needed three stitches to repair it.
Evra sustained the injury during the Hammers’ 4-1 loss to Liverpool. It was not only a poor day for Evra physically, but the West Ham defender was continually tested by Liverpool’s rampant attack.
Not a good result but I am very happy to be back in the @premierleague. I have missed this game and these tackles! #3stitches #ILoveThisGame pic.twitter.com/ZisIHTZINU

Evra joined West Ham after being released by Marseille in the autumn of 2017. The West Ham defender had been involved in a fight with a Marseille fan before a match. It resulted in the player being banned and later released.
Evra not only got a nasty cut on his leg, but the Frenchman was the target of Liverpool supporters all match long. The former Manchester United player was a victim of a Luis Suarez race row in 2011. Liverpool fans didn’t let him forget that there is no love lost between them and the former Red Devil.
While Evra was booed by Liverpool supporters, some took to social media wondering why a player who was racially abused would be targeted by fans.
‘why are we booing Patrice Evra Dad?’
‘he was…..erm….racially abused by one of our former players lad’
‘so why are we booing him?’
‘just watch the match and shut up!’.
