Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku is perfect for Fantasy Premier League managers in gameweek 29. The Red Devils’ forward is tied for fifth in the Premier League in goals scored with 13. The Belgian has tallied one quarter of all Manchester United goals. The Red Devils have Crystal Palace on the fixture list this weekend. The Eagles have conceded 43 goals this term, and Lukaku should increase that number on Monday night.
Lukaku has scored or assisted a goal in seven of his last 10 matches in all competitions. His form has been great, despite manager Jose Mourinho’s tactics overshadowing his play. Lukaku has quietly gone about scoring goals. Since suffering a four match goal scoring dry spell in all competitions in December, Lukaku has been consistent.
The last time these two sides met in September, Manchester United throttled Crystal Palace, 4-0. Lukaku scored in the fixture as the Red Devils ran riot. Crystal Palace was a completely different team at as Frank De Boer managed the side. Crystal Palace’s backline was incredibly porous. Since De Boer’s sacking and the appointment of Roy Hodgson, the team’s defence has been much better. However, the Eagles have allowed 10 goals in their last five matches. All five of those fixtures have ended without a Crystal Palace win.
Manchester United still have Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal on their fixture list. Despite these matches to come, the Red Devils also have winnable games against teams fighting for Premier League survival. Against Liverpool and Arsenal, Mourinho’s team secured four points from six. Although Lukaku didn’t score, the team very well could take all six points next time around. Lukaku’s form could also mean he may score goal after goal.
It’s doubtful at this point in the season that FPL managers will be dropping Lukaku. There are managers with some money to spend and some points to make up. So, Lukaku is a perfect addition over fellow forwards Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Lukaku is perfect for gameweek 29.
