Liverpool injury news heading into Saturday’s match at Selhurst Park has left manager Jurgen Klopp sweating the fitness of several players. The Reds’ Emre Can could miss out on Saturday’s match while defender Joe Gomez is believed to be out for both the Premier League fixture and next week’s Champions League quarterfinal first leg.

Gomez injured his ankle while on international duty with England. The defender has played in 29 Liverpool matches and has been a regular for Klopp.

Can is also facing time on the sidelines, but could be back in time for Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace. Can was a part of Germany’s international squad during the week, but left the team due to an injury before Tuesday’s match against Brazil in Berlin.

Can suffered a back injury against Watford ahead of the international break and was unable to complete the full 90 minutes.

Can is not only suffering from injury, but his reputation has been damaged due not signing a new contract with the Reds. Can’s contract is up in the summer and he is expected to leave for free to either Bayern Munich or Juventus. Reports have Can requesting a massive £200,000-a-week contract from Liverpool. However, Can has refuted the claim.

Centre-back Dejan Lovren is also facing a fight for fitness ahead of Liverpool’s massive week of fixtures.

The good news for Klopp is right-back Nathaniel Clyne could return for the weekend and the team’s Champions League match against Manchester City.
