Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi set to miss the rest of the football season and could miss out on the World Cup this summer for Belgium.
The striker is currently on loan at German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. Batshuayi joined the club in January and has been a revelation for the German team. The Belgian had scored seven goals in 10 games in the Bundesliga, while adding two more goals in four Europa League matches.
Batshuayi had to be stretchered off in the dying moments of Dortmund’s Sunday loss to rivals Schalke. After undergoing tests following the loss, it was reveals the striker had severely injured his ankle.
Following the injury, Batshuayi posted a tweet about the end of his season.

It was believed Batshuayi would seal a permanent move to the Signal Iduna Park club. However, due to his fantastic form and the failure of Alvaro Morata at Chelsea, the striker will return to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are expected to part ways with Antonio Conte. The club’s next manager may have Batshuayi firmly in their plans.
Thanks to Batshuayi’s form with Dortmund, Chelsea’s asking price for the striker will have increased. Batshuayi’s current market value is estimated to be around £36 million.
