Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has been ever present in the English Premier League this term. The 24-year-old French centre-back is showing just way manager Pep Guardiola was desperate to add him to the team last January. Laporte’s £57 million price tag from Athletic Bilbao may have raised a few eyebrows around the Premier League. But the skilful defender is showing he is worth every penny.
Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte building a foundation for clean sheets
Laporte has been a part of Manchester City’s starting XI for each Premier League match this season. The centre-back has played a full 90 minutes in each game. In total, he has played 1,080 minutes in the league.
He is dependable and along with centre-back John Stones and goalkeeper Ederson, is building a foundation for clean sheets. The trio — along with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Alisson Becker — is an exciting defensive group that scares opposing attackers.
Despite scoring just one goal, Laporte has been a fantastic defensive pick in Fantasy Premier League. FPL Pep Guardiola wannabes have scored big with Laporte in defence. The 6ft. 3in. defender has tallied 58 points, the fifth most points from a defensive player in FPL.

Laporte has consistently scored six points in matches. Seven times in 12 gameweeks he has finished the day with six points. The consistency is important to FPL teams and having a defender who can add six points each gameweek can be vital in winning a fantasy or daily fantasy sports competition.
A full 90 minutes and a clean sheet can get FPL managers a fantastic six points by adding Laporte to their team. With Manchester City’s ability to keep clean sheets, seven this term with just five goals conceded, Laporte can be an FPL difference maker.

Manchester City can add three more clean sheets to their tally of seven in their next trio of games. West Ham away, Bournemouth at home and Watford away are up next for the Cityzens. Laporte can continue his great form and brilliant consistency.
Laporte will set FPL managers back just £6m this week in FPL.
