Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expects to have a full-strength squad for Monday night’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Cityzens go into the fixture seven points behind Liverpool following the Reds’ 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Manchester City need to win to keep pace with their Premier League title rivals and Guardiola will have a full selection of players in their attempt to keep pace.
Sergio Aguero expected to return
Sergio Aguero is expected to return to the Manchester City starting XI after missing consecutive matches with an illness. The Argentine has tallied 10 goals and five assists in 17 matches this term.
The Cityzens have won back to back cup matches without Aguero against Rotherham and Burton, respectively. Manchester City won both cup fixtures by a 16-0 combined score.
Guardiola is expected to start both David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne as well. The duo struggled with injuries and fitness in December and are now ready to feature once more for the team.
Cityzens full-back Benjamin Mendy will miss the fixture but is scheduled for an early February return.

The last meeting between Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers ended 1-1. Manchester City needed a second-half equaliser from Aymeric Laporte to finish the fixture level.
Manchester City have won five of their last six meetings with Wolves in all competitions. The Cityzens have outscored Wolves 15-7 over the course of their last six games.
Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo will take a full-strength side to the Etihad for clash. Wolverhampton are coming off of a FA Cup win over Liverpool in their last outing.
