Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez is having a career season in Fantasy Premier League. The Spanish hitman scored a hat-trick against Southampton at the weekend to push his points total to 125.
Perez has now tallied four goals in two matches for Rafael Benitez’s team. Newcastle United play Brighton on Saturday and Perez has the opportunity to increase his FPL total even further.
Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez can’t stop scoring
Perez has topped his FPL points total from a season ago. In 2017-18, Perez notched 124 points. He has now one-upped that total and there are still three games to go.
The striker has only had two multi-point matches this season. However, his consistency has led to points being scored in each gameweek appearance.
Perez is listed at the shockingly low price of just £6.1 million making him a great option off the bench or a cheap forward in a team with an expensive midfield.
Could Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez be on the move?
Perez has tallied 10 goals and two assists in 34 appearances. His strike-rate could lead to a move away from St. James’ Park as he has his contract will expire in 2021.
His future is not set in stone for being at Newcastle United as there is a belief he could leave in the summer despite being incredibly valuable to the club.
The striker has been a nearly automatic selection for Benitez this term. He has appeared in 89% of Newcastle United’s starting XIs.
FPL managers could choose to be cautious about selecting Perez for gameweek 36. But he has scored previously against Brighton. Perez has tallied one goal in three games against the Seagulls.
Over 22,400 FPL managers have already selected the Spaniard for the weekend. Perez could be a great secret weapon as the Premier League season comes to an end.
Perhaps another big gameweek could lead Perez to no longer be underappreciated in the Premier League.
