Can Manchester United new boy Bruno Fernandes play against Wolverhampton Wanderers?

After a long and drawn out transfer, Manchester United finally signed midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon. The midfielder cost the Red Devils for £49.5 million, according to Transfermarkt. Manchester United could pay out a total of nearly £70m in the end due to add-ons.

Fernandes’ signature came close to the weekend of Premier League fixtures leading to many questioning whether the midfielder would be available for Manchester United for round 25. Manchester United will clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend, a team they have already played three times.

Can Bruno Fernandes play versus Wolves?

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope Fernandes can continue his good form at Old Trafford. Fernandes scored eight goals and tallied seven assists in 17 Portuguese league games.

Fernandes is available for selection for Solskjaer. All new Premier League signings registered by 12 pm GMT on Friday are eligible play this weekend.

According to the Express, Fernandes is match fit could go right into the squad. It is possible that Fernandes could start on the bench allowing him to get up to pace with the Premier League. It has been suggested that Solskjaer could still leave Fernandes out to give him more time to train with his new teammates. If Solskjaer did leave the midfielder out, it could leave fans furious do to the importance of Saturday’s match versus Wolves.

Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are level on 34 points. Manchester United are in fifth place thanks to goal difference but has competition from both Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils have won once in three tries versus Wolverhampton Wanderers this season. Although they have not lost to the West Midlands team, Manchester United have struggled to break down Wolves in all three meetings so far. Fernandes could show off his creative side if deployed to pull the strings in midfield.
