The attack is where your fantasy football team is going to get most of its points. However, many of the top players that are going to secure goals and assists come at a price. Finding a cheaply priced attacker that will score your fantasy English Premier League side points is key to a successful fantasy team.
Now, let us look at 5 fantasy football attackers for gameweek 4 in the English Premier League.
Raheem Sterling – Manchester City
Raheem Sterling is seeing a renaissance after a poor debut season with Manchester City and a forgettable European Championships. Already two goals and assist this season, Sterling has been key in City’s attack. Yet, it isn’t just goals and assists that make Sterling a great choice for your fantasy football team in gameweek 4. The winger is averaging 3.3 dribbles, 1.3 key passes and 2.3 shots per game. And unlike last season, he isn’t being taken off with 20 minutes left to play. Sterling has looked great and should come good if picked in you fantasy side.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Manchester United
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a no brainer. The Swede has been fantastic since arriving at Old Trafford and has scored three in three for the Red Devils. Despite not registering an assist, Ibrahimovic makes the rest of the side better, and it is only a matter of time until he sets a teammate up for a goal. A threat in the air or to create something out of nothing, Ibrahimovic is a must have if you can afford him in your fantasy Premier League team.
Theo Walcott – Arsenal
A surprise entry to the list, Theo Walcott has performed well statistically in Arsenal’s opening three fixtures. He has already registered a goal and an assist, and his pace makes him a threat when the Gunners counter-attack. A 78% pass success rate isn’t bad, but he is also averaging 2.3 dribbles and one key pass a game. Compared to the others on the list, Walcott could be an economical choice for your next fantasy football fixture.
Philippe Coutinho – Liverpool
With the form of Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, it may look strange that Philippe Coutinho makes the list instead. However, the Brazil has been at the heart of everything Liverpool has done well in 2016-17. Two goals from three matches has him as the Reds’ top scorer. Add in two key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game and Coutinho’s name on your fantasy team sheet looks better for gameweek 4. The playmaker will get assists, it is just a matter of time, which makes him a great choice in your attack.
Wayne Rooney – Manchester United
Some may see Wayne Rooney as a safe bet for their fantasy football team. That may be true, but Rooney has been in good form under Jose Mourinho through three games. A goal and two assists makes him well worth inclusion for gameweek 4. Will that last, it is anyone’s guess as the Englishman is now 30. Mourinho won’t leave him on if he turns in a bad performance or looks unfit. However, with Paul Pogba and Ibrahimovic picking up the workload, Rooney has more talent around him than in previous seasons. A solid choice if you have the cash and room in your fantasy team.
Bonus attacker:
Sergio Aguero – Manchester City
Sergio Aguero doesn’t make the top 5 due to an impending three-match ban, which could see him miss out on the Manchester derby in gameweek 4. If he isn’t banned for the derby, he is definitely worth a place in your fantasy team. Three goals in three games sees Aguero, and Ibrahimovic, at the top of the Premier League in goals. He is also a provider and has unlocked defences with 1.3 key pass per match in 2016-17. Unfortunately, he may miss three matches, which will hurt any fantasy football team in gameweek 4 and beyond.
