Chelsea and Real Madrid have agreed to an Alvaro Morata transfer. So, what have fans thought of the deal?
Chelsea have agreed a transfer for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. He will now leave Real Madrid for a second time, previously leaving for Juventus, and will join the Blues ahead of the Premier League season.
Chelsea will pay a £60 million Morata transfer fee to the reigning La Liga champions, and the money plus wages saved, should help Los Blancos sign Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
Chelsea have been frantically searching for a new striker after manager Antonio Conte deemed Diego Costa surplus to requirements. The Blues also lost out on Romelu Lukaku, who signed for Manchester United.
Thanks to Morata’s strike-rate with the Spanish champions, 15 goals in 26 La Liga matches last season, Chelsea fans have greeted the news with much excitement. Blues’ fans took to social media to express their joy over the agreed deal between the two clubs. All that is left to do, is for Morata to agree personal terms with Chelsea.
Morata (fast, clever, v.good finisher) was Conte's choice. Club wanted Lukaku but Conte was worried by his lack of work off the ball

Morata suits Conte style, Lukaku suits Jose. Stop with the comparison.

Although some have been quite happy with the Morata transfer, others are a bit more sceptical…
Chelsea to sign Morata, I am not convinced by him. Barring one alright season he has been bench fodder or average at best. #FPL

Lukaku – 105 goals in 4 years
Morata – 40 goals in 4 years #MUFC pic.twitter.com/iqHLGXgWT1

I vehemently disagree that Morata is better than Aguero and Kun's track record is evidence of that https://t.co/ccJnbNpIqM

While Morata had a very good season for Madrid last term, he only made 14 starts for the club. Prior to returning to Real Madrid last summer, Morata spent two season with Serie A’s Juventus. During two years with the Turin giants, Morata scored just 15 league goals in 62 games. Like in Madrid, he spent much of his time coming off the bench. He will now be expected to be the first choice striker for the Blues.
