According to reports from British media, Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has made it clear he wants to leave the Scottish champions. Due to his insistence to leave the club, Celtic have agreed to part ways with the player, but only for the right price.
The 21-year-old striker had a fantastic season in 2016-17, tallying 32 goals in 48 matches. Chelsea have taken notice of the youngster’s potential and are being linked with a move for the player.
Celtic have reportedly stated they would accept a bid of £40 million for the player. However, with Dembele’s potential and the amount of money being paid for players this summer, Celtic could up their asking price if the right club comes knocking.
Chelsea are not the only team to be interested in Dembele, as Borussia Dortmund have been linked with a possible move for the player, too.
If Dembele does arrive at Chelsea, it is thought he would be a back up to the newly signed Alvaro Morata. Chelsea are in the market for a back up striker to the Spaniard with Diego Costa headed for the exit. Antonio Conte is also interested in Fernando Llorente, but Dembele would offer more upside due to his age despite the large price tag.
Celtic have already signed attacking midfielder Olivier Ntcham this summer, and his addition would soften the blow of losing Dembele.
