Huddersfield shocked many English Premier League onlookers with a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The club’s big win has shone the light on the Terrier’s top performers, and many fantasy managers are questioning whether or not they should add Huddersfield players to their teams for Fantasy Premier League week 2.
Huddersfield’s next four matches are against teams rated as level two difficulty by Fantasy Premier League’s official website. Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham and Leicester are up next for the Terriers, and with the team’s performance against Crystal Palace, there is no reason David Wagner’s team cannot pick up points in those four fixtures. So, if you are considering adding one or two Terriers to your FPL team for week 2, do it.
Steve Mounie was Huddersfield’s top performer in week 1 tallying 12 points. The striker scored twice in 85 minutes of play against Crystal Palace. He also picked up points for the team’s clean sheet. Mounie is a great option at just £6.0 and playing against Newcastle in week 2, FPL managers could see similar returns.
Looking for a cheap goalkeeper that will let you put all your cash into your attack or scoring midfielders? Sign up Huddersfield’s Jonas Lossl. The Dane tallied a clean sheet in week 1, and Newcastle’s attack shouldn’t pose too much of a threat against Huddersfield at home this weekend. Lossl follows up week 2 against Southampton and West Ham in subsequent weeks. Neither side scored in week 1, and neither looked likely of threatening their opponents’ goals.
Need another cheap option for this week’s team? Aaron Mooy could be the man for your side. Just £5.5 will land you the midfielder as Huddersfield prepare for four very winnable games. Mooy recorded a clean sheet and assist in FPL week 1.
Huddersfield’s fixtures will get more difficult around week 7. Until then, FPL managers could not only land a bargain, but a player that can record plenty of points over the next four match days. Last season, the club split the season series with Newcastle one game apiece. The Terriers lost the home match last term in the Championship to Newcastle, but should be able to make up for that this term at the John Smith’s Stadium.
