Tottenham need two players to be best in Europe, according to David Ginola

Tottenham need two players to be the best in Europe. That is the view of former Spurs’ player David Ginola.

The Frenchman played 100 games for Spurs during his time at the club scoring 13 goals. In three seasons at White Hart Land, Tottenham finished no higher than 10th place with Ginola in the team. The club did win the League Cup while Ginola was a member.

According to Ginola, Tottenham should raid their upcoming Champions League opponents Real Madrid for talent. In his opinion, Spurs’ former players Gareth Bale and Luka Modric would make the team one of Europe’s best, if not the best.

“Why not think about building a team that in the next five, ten years will be the best in Europe?” Ginola asked on talkSPORT.

“Bring Bale back to Tottenham and keep Harry Kane and bring in a new era for Spurs. I am talking about five, ten years coming, they will be brilliant.

“Modric [as well] would be fantastic. Modric in the middle of the park, Bale on the left hand side, Kane up front, Dele Alli as the number ten – that could be interesting.

“Why not make Tottenham the best team in Europe? This is a gamble and I know it sounds crazy, but would you like to see at the new White Hart Lane 61,000 people watching a great team, challenging for the title every season, challenging for the final of the Champions League every season?”

While it is easy to say Tottenham should sign two of the world’s best players in their positions, the ability to do so is difficult. In addition, both players previously played for the club and were sold to Madrid. Both Bale and Modric have developed into far better players with Real Madrid, and the price to sign either would overshadow the price Spurs sold them for.

In related news, and exactly what Tottenham fans don’t want to hear, Harry Kane is being linked with a move to Real Madrid. The Guardian reports Kane is being sized up for a €200 million move to Spain.
