A past manager has revealed how current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s heart was with Manchester United, and he dreamed of becoming their new manager, reports MSN.com
An interview with Klopp’s former manager at Mainz, Eckhard Krautzen, reveals that Klopp dreamed of managing in England and that taking the Old Trafford hotseat would be his choice of preference, saying :
“It would be his dream to go to England one day and his favourite club would be [Manchester] United. That’s what he said”. Krautzen goes on to say he admitted telling Sir Alex Ferguson “Jürgen Klopp, if he goes abroad, if he goes to England, his love would be Manchester United.”
It is news that will be of great delight and amusement to United fans, and likely annoy Liverpool fans immensely, who publicly adore the charismatic German, despite him faring, results wise, worse than previous manager Brendon Rogers. Rogers was sacked after gaining just 12 points from the first 8 Premier League games of the 2015/16 season – which will be the same total that Liverpool will have gained under Klopp should United win at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.
The bookies make United paper thin favourites to win outright for Saturday’s huge clash – popular Irish bookmakers Paddy Power currently list United at 18/5 to take the three points, with Liverpool a fraction higher at 17/10. The draw is available at 12/5.
It will be a fascinating game and we look forward to hearing what imaginative chants the United faithful have to throw at the Koppites with this revelation!
