Jurgen Klopp was hospitalised on Wednesday and missed out on Liverpool’s training at Melwood. The German manager underwent several tests and is expected to be released on Wednesday evening.
Klopp admitted himself to the hospital due to ‘feeling unwell’. However, he isn’t expected to stay overnight.
The club released a statement informing supporters of Klopp’s trip to the hospital.
“He is being assessed by doctors and will be absent from training on Wednesday as a result,” said a statement read.
“There are currently no plans for Jurgen to remain in hospital beyond his appointment and he will therefore return home this evening; however, he may require further check-ups in the coming days.
“The club urges that the privacy of Jurgen, his family and other patients is respected while attending hospital visits.”
There is no word whether or not Klopp will miss Liverpool’s fixture against Southampton at the weekend. According to Sky Sports, Klopp recently returned from a charity event in South Africa.
Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League, and could move level on points with fourth place Chelsea, if results go there way at the weekend.
Liverpool did get some good news today and that is Sadio Mane could be available for Saturday’s game. Despite sustaining another hamstring injury while on international duty, Mane is expected to be a last minute decision ahead of the game at the weekend.
