Liverpool’s Adam Lallana is injured again. The England international’s latest setback was confirmed by manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday afternoon. Lallana will miss Liverpool’s FA Cup 4th round match against West Brom this weekend.
Lallana has played just six times for Liverpool this season due to a long-term injury he suffered in preseason. Lallana has appeared as a substitute in five of those six appearances in the Premier League.
Lallana was kept out of action by a hamstring injury earlier this term. Klopp confirmed Lallana had picked up a knock recently and his stamina levels are a concern.
“We have to think about it. Adam Lallana has a little issue and I’m pretty sure he will be out of the next game,” Klopp said.
“Adam had a long injury and needs time again to adapt to the intensity of the Premier League.”
During his press conference, Klopp confirmed Lallana’s previous injury was a muscle tear.
“Alberto Moreno is back in training, what do we do? Robbo (Robertson) has played really well but played a lot as well,” Klopp said.
“Milner got a dead leg in training. If he says it’s too painful for training then you know how painful it is!
“Clyne is in a good way, but still isn’t in team training. ”
Klopp did confirm Danny Ings could play in the weekend’s FA Cup fixture.
“He’s [Ings] in really good shape, but there’s nothing to say at the moment about the lineup,” Klopp stated.
“We’ve had a few players ill, I don’t know. Ings is doing really well, the fact that we don’t send him on loan show what our plans are with him.
“Since the injury it’s been ups and downs. He’s physically completely there, I can’t remember the last session he wasn’t properly involved.
“It’s a good situation for him and for us at the moment.”
It is unknown if Liverpool’s Adam Lallana will be out for another extended period of time.
