Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has hinted at his future at the club in a recent interview. The Wales midfielder is excited about life under new manager Unai Emery and may be ready to commit his long-term future to the Gunners.
Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey committed to future at the club
The 27-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2011. Since his arrival, Ramsey has be come a key player at the club. Ramsey played 24 times in the Premier League last term and scored seven goals. He added a further 10 assists.
Ramsey’s current Arsenal contract ends in 2019 and it is believed the Gunners will open up contract talks with him soon. Due to his contract expiring next summer, Ramsey has been linked with a move to Arsenal’s rivals Liverpool and Manchester United. However, the midfielder has hinted at remaining at the Emirates.
Ramsey was recently asked about new Arsenal manager Emery.
“Of course. I haven’t spoken to him at all yet, but I think it’s an exciting time for the club,” Ramsey said. “I can’t wait to get back there now.”
Ramsey also spoke about playing with Wales, who will not be at this summer’s World Cup.
“The future of Wales is very bright and there are a lot of exciting young players coming through,” he said. “Playing a lot of them in this game and in this sort of atmosphere will only give them that bit more confidence now going into the future.”
