Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is Fantasy Premier League’s most transferred played ahead of gameweek 36. More than 114,000 FPL managers have drafted the forward into their teams.
Jesus had a modest six point performance in gameweek 35 against Middlesbrough, but certainly, FPL managers are expecting a lot from the forward. But does he warrant a selection in our top 5?
FPL Gameweek 36 forwards to buy
Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City
Total FPL points: 32; GW 35: 6 points
Looking at the amount of FPL managers that have drafted Gabriel Jesus, it is easy to see why. The Brazilian has been stellar when given a chance in Manchester City’s starting XI. He will get his opportunity in gameweek 36 as Sergio Aguero is set to miss time due to another injury.
I had Aguero in my top 5 forwards for gameweek 35, and he returned my confidence in him with a 12 point tally. Hopefully, Jesus will do the same.
Harry Kane – Tottenham
Total FPL points: 174; GW 35: 5 points
Harry Kane and Tottenham continue their march, and if it wouldn’t have been for a slight dip between gameweek 8 and 13, it could be Spurs closing in on the Premier League title rather than Chelsea.
The team aren’t, however, as Spurs attempt to play catch-up. Kane had a goal in Tottenham’s clean sheet win against Arsenal last weekend which sets the team up nicely with West Ham in gameweek 36.
Kane should lead the line well and he could equal his 13 point performance against West Ham from earlier this season.
Jamie Vardy – Leicester City
Total FPL points: 140; GW 35: 9 points
Jamie Vardy has been quite consistent in FPL since gameweek 26 and only once has scored fewer than five points in a single game during that time.
Last weekend saw a nine point return from the Foxes forward. Leicester face Watford in gameweek 36, a team Vardy put five points up against last time the two met. Keep in mind, Leicester face Manchester City and Tottenham in the two gameweeks that follow. You may want to drop him after the Watford clash.
Ashley Barnes – Burnley
Total FPL points: 75; GW 35: 9 points
Who is Ashley Barnes? The Burnley forward tallied nine points in gameweek 35 against Crystal Palace, and many heads in FPL were turned.
Barnes is a cheap option at only £4.5, which is down to his inconsistent playing time and points. If you need a forward on your bench, why not pay the money for him. But if you really need a quality forward, you may want to transfer for his teammate Andre Gray instead.
Burnley have a high points potential set of matches upcoming against West Brom, Bournemouth and West Ham.
Jordan Ayew – Swansea
Total FPL points: 24; GW 35: 5 points
Selecting Jordan Ayew is a bit off the wall, but back-to-back five point gameweeks is intriguing. Swansea have a shot at Premier League survival, and Ayew’s goals could keep them up.
Just £5.0, Ayew and the Swans face Everton, Sunderland and West Brom to close out the Premier League season. A couple of Ayew goals or assists, and Swansea will stay up for another season in the top-flight.
