Manchester United chase Inter Milan ace

Manchester United are chasing Inter Milan’s winger Ivan Perisic. The 28-year-old moved to San Siro in the summer of 2015, and has been a regular in a routinely poor Inter side. Last season saw Perisic score his most single-season goals since 2010-11 when he tallied 22 for Club Brugge. The Croatian was Inter’s second leading scorer with 11. He added eight assists to his tally.

If there is one criticism to Perisic, it is his inability to get his head up when barrelling down the flanks. He is a player that will run for 90 minutes and his pace is his biggest selling point. Inter are asking for £45m for the winger, although Manchester United are not willing to meet those demands as of yet.

According to sources, Jose Mourinho is happy to let Anthony Martial leave Old Trafford, just as he did Memphis Depay back in January. Rumours are still swirling that Manchester United could sign Alexandre Lacazette and Antoine Griezmann.

Lacazette looks likely leaving Lyon this summer, and fuel has been thrown onto the fire of his move after Lyon made a £10.5m transfer bid for Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez. However, the Mexican has been linked with a move to North America’s Major League Soccer for the 2018 season. Los Angeles FC, who will begin play in MLS in March 2018, have offered Hernandez a lucrative contract to join the club; which would make him the league’s highest paid player. However, Bayer have said they will not allow Hernandez to leave for free, and hope to sell him this summer. The deal for Hernandez could have a knock-on effect in Manchester United’s attempt to sign Lacazette. Meanwhile, Liverpool have thrown their hat into the race for the French striker.
