Manchester United Make £60m bid for Real Madrid Striker Alvaro Morata

Despite being linked with a transfer for Torino’s Italian international striker Andrea Belotti on Thursday, Manchester United are now reportedly after the signature of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The Spanish Champions League winner would replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who looks likely to leave this summer for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.

Friday morning gossip columns claim that Manchester United have made a last ditch effort to sign Morata and the deal is worth £60 million. Meanwhile, Italians AC Milan are also after the striker, but have offered just £39m.

According to one website, Morata is valued at £34m currently, and only joined Real Madrid last summer from Juventus for £25.50m. Manchester United continue to be linked with strikers as the team prepare for possible life without Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
