Mohamed Salah Transfer to Liverpool Nearly Complete

The Mohamed Salah transfer to Liverpool is expected to be finalised by Friday as the Egyptian international has travelled to England to complete the deal and have his medical. Salah will now leave Roma after being one of the team’s most important players over the last two seasons.

Liverpool are set to pay Roma an initial £35 million along with add-ons that will push the transfer fee over the £35m paid mark that Liverpool met when buying Andy Carroll in 2011. Chelsea will also receive a piece of the transfer fee, which will be around £2.7m for their former player. Liverpool had shown interest in Salah back in 2014, but the Egyptian international ultimately moved to Chelsea.

It is reported that when everything is said and done, Salah will have cost Liverpool nearly £40m. The fee will make him the most expensive African player of all-time.

Liverpool’s deal for Salah seemingly came out of nowhere at the beginning of June, and Roma denied a deal would be completed this summer. However, the Reds have worked hard to negotiate the transfer and it looks to be nearing completion. Salah will meet with Roma officials in London ahead of the move being made official, and according to reports from Egypt, Salah will arrive in London on Tuesday night at 9:50 PM. The Mohamed Salah transfer won’t be Liverpool’s last dip into the market this summer.
