Wayne Rooney Set for Sensational Return to Everton

Unsettled Manchester United star Wayne Rooney looks set to turn his back on offers from China and America, and re-join his former club Everton. Rooney made his sensational entrance into football with Everton having first signed with the club when he was just nine-years old.

Rooney has become frustrated at the lack of opportunity given to him by United boss Jose Mourinho, and still feels at 31, he has much to offer to top-flight English football. Everton are the only other Premier League club Rooney would play for, he has said, and team are keen to bring him home in a move that would delight their fans.

Although Rooney still has 12 months on his existing United contract, the Toffees want to make the move this summer and add his name to the growing list of signings coming into Goodison Park. Manager Ronald Koeman is looking to re-establish Everton as one of England’s elite clubs.

But Everton will want to get the deal done as United return to training this weekend and will soon be commencing their tour of the USA. It could see Wayne Rooney, if the tour is a success for him, commit the rest of his career to United, however.

Everton are also being linked with Arsenal’s French international forward Olivier Giroud, as they look to have a ready-made replacement for the almost certainly out going Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
