Arsenal Ready to Hijack Tottenham Move for Premier League Star

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make an eleventh hour move for Everton star midfielder Ross Barkley and pinch him from under the noses of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur

Barkley has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, now homed at Wembley Stadium whilst their White Hart Lane facility is rebuilt, but it is this financial commitment that has hampered their ability to finalise deals in the summer transfer market, with no signings arriving for manager Mauricio Pochettino, but has seen several players depart the club, including Nabil Bentaleb to FC Schalke, and Kyle Walker to Manchester City, for a world record fee.

Now it appears that Arsenal are ready to move for Barkley whilst Tottenham dally, with French forward Olivier Giroud likely to be the bait Everton find too tempting to resist. Giroud is open to a move to Merseyside, and with Arsenal having few financial constraints, this move could happen very quickly, which is sure to upset the fans of their bitter rivals even further.

Everton are still chasing Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, but may need to wait for the Barkley deal to be finalised before agreeing the fee, with Swansea wanting nearly £50 million for their man.

One player that will not be joining the new look Everton squad is Belgian forward Christian Benteke, who has declared himself happy at Crystal Palace and looking forward to working with new boss Frank De Boer.
