The Champions League group stage is set to begin on Tuesday night, and ahead of matchday 1, the odds for this year’s tournament have defending champions Real Madrid favourites to win the competition again.
Real Madrid are 4/1 favourites to win the competition with many sportsbooks believing they will overcome their current poor form to lift the famous trophy. Real Madrid currently sit seventh in La Liga with just five points from a possible nine.
Bayern Munich, who suffered a league defeat to Hoffenheim at the weekend, are second favourites to win the competition. Several online sportsbooks, including Bet365, have the Bavarian club at 7/1 odds to win the tournament.
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona come in third and fourth in odds to win the Champions League, respectively. Manchester City and Manchester United follow, both at 11/1, according to Bet365, before the competition kicks off Tuesday night.
Manchester City must play Napoli, Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk in the group stage. Meanwhile, their city rivals will play Basel, Benfica and CSKA Moscow in the group games.
Chelsea have been installed at 16/1 odds by Bet365, while Liverpool are 20/1. Tottenham have the longest odds of all English sides at 40/1, according to Bet365.
