Liverpool defeated Southampton by a decisive 2-0 scoreline on Sunday evening. The Reds win sent them into third place in the Premier League.
Liverpool opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Roberto Firmino. Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool’s score in the 42nd minute. Salah’s strike was his 21st goal of the seaosn. He is now two behind Premier League leading scorer Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker has recorded 23 goals this term.

Liverpool return to Champions League action on February 14th against Porto. The Reds will travel to Portugal for the first leg of the tie.
