Liverpool release positive news on Salah, Van Dijk, and Milner injuries

Liverpool have released positive news on the injured trio of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and James Milner. The club has said the three stars have not been ruled out of Saturday’s match against Huddersfield.

Liverpool release positive news

Milner suffered an injury in the Reds’ last Premier League match against Manchester City. The combative midfielder suffered a hamstring injury and could be ready to face the Terriers.

Salah, who still seems to be feeling the effects of the dislocated shoulder he experienced in the Champions League Final, sustained a muscle injury during the international break. He was substituted late in Eygpt’s 4-1 win over Swaziland. The Pharaohs will play again tomorrow in African Cup of Nations qualifying. However, Salah is already back in Liverpool undergoing tests with the Reds medical staff.

Van Dijk has been walking wounded for several weeks. He played against Chelsea, Napoli, and Manchester City while suffering from a rib injury.

The centre-back played in the Netherlands’ 3-0 UEFA Nations League victory over Germany on Saturday. Van Dijk not only contributed to the clean sheet, but he scored in the Dutch’s triumph. Van Dijk was withdrawn from Tuesday night’s friendly against Belgium to recover from the injury.

Van Dijk has missed just one match since arriving at Anfield last January. That was due to a thigh problem. Van Dijk initially suffered his rib injury against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. However, the nature of playing in central defence prevents the injury from healing properly unless the player takes an extended period off.

Liverpool’s medical staff is monitoring all three players.

The Reds travel to Huddersfield on Saturday looking to keep pace with Manchester City and Chelsea. Liverpool will follow up their Premier League match against the Terriers with a midweek Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is desperate to get a win after the team’s late loss to Napoli on matchday 2.
