Neymar backs Unai Emery to succeed at Arsenal

Neymar has praised former Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery and believes the Spaniard will succeed at the Emirates. Emery won Ligue 1 in 2017-18 thanks to the brilliance of Neymar and now the Brazilian has backed Emery to do well in London. PSG also won the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue in Emery’s second year at the club. However, due to PSG’s failings in the Champions League, Emery left with one year still left on his contract.

Neymar backs Unai Emery to succeed at Arsenal

Neymar played just one season under Emery at PSG. During their time together, Neymar found out just how knowledgeable the manager is about tactics.

“Now it’s easy to say because Arsenal are playing really great football,” Neymar said. “They are coming from a great run in recent matches and everybody knows he’s a really great coach”

“We know about their quality and I was really happy to work with him because he’s a really hard working guy. He really wanted to coach us and really wanted to study about football.

“I think he will bring good things for Arsenal, which is a really huge and important club here in England. I wish him luck.”

Can Arsenal win the Premier League?

Arsenal looked like strong contenders for the Premier League title just three weeks ago. However, three straight draws to Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Wolverhampton have grounded the Gunners. Arsenal are currently eight points back of league leaders Manchester City.

Emery has turned the Gunners into an attacking side as they have scored 26 goals this term. Arsenal are third in scoring but have still had difficulty keeping clean sheets. The Gunners have allowed 15 goals, the highest total of the Premier League’s top five teams.

Arsenal will travel to Bournemouth when the Premier League resumes November 25th. Bournemouth are sixth in the Premier League, four points behind Emery’s Arsenal.
