Injuries could dictate title race in Premier League clash

Liverpool are still facing injuries to key stars. Dejan Lovren did not play in midweek against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. He isn’t expected to feature against Manchester United, limiting Jurgen Klopp’s defensive options.

Virgil van Dijk will return to centre-back after missing out in midweek through suspension. His return will see him partner with Joel Matip, who had a solid game against the Germans.

Fabinho had filled in at the back alongside Matip and also played well. He will most likely be moved into central midfield.

Manchester United have received a boost ahead of the Premier League clash. The Red Devils played in the FA Cup on Monday night defeating Chelsea.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, and Marcos Rojo available for selection.

However, Solskjaer will be without two of his most important attacking threats. Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial are both out until March with injuries.

Jurgen Klopp needs Mohamed Salah to shine

Klopp desperately needs forward Mohamed Salah to step up and play a big role in Sunday’s match. The Egyptian has tallied 17 goals and eight assists in 26 games this term.

Scored against Bournemouth in Liverpool’s last league match. Five times this season, Salah has scored in back-to-back fixtures. The forward has not gone more than two consecutive matches without a goal.

Liverpool haven’t won at Old Trafford since March 2014. The Reds won 3-0 on that occasion.

The clubs have played 13 times in all competitions since that fixture. Manchester United have gone 10 games undefeated during that 13 game span. Six of those matches ended in Red Devil wins.
