The United States picked up a rare point in the cauldron of Mexico’s Estadio Azteca on Sunday night with a 1-1 draw. The hard-fought point was made even more special thanks to Toronto FC and US national team midfielder Michael Bradley’s first half goal.
The American intercepted a Mexico pass at the midway line before chipping Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from just inside the Mexico half.
Bradley isn’t known for his scoring with the US national team, but Sunday’s goal showed the former Roma midfielder has a long-range effort in his locker.
Bradley’s goal in Mexico has led many to look back at 2017’s best halfway line goals. While the American’s goal was lovely, and incredibly important for the Yanks in World Cup qualifying, it doesn’t compare to this Memphis Depay goal for Lyon.
Barnet’s Joe Payne wasn’t to be outdone either.
Are there any better? Let us know if there was a goal from the halfway mark that outdid these three strikes.
