The internet is awash with speculation that Naby Keita has already put pen to paper with Liverpool, in a deal set to be announced early next week.
The Red Bull Leipzig midfielder has been Jurgen Klopp’s primary target in recent weeks, with Leipzig’s management reputedly refusing two offers from the Premier League club in the €50 million to €60 million bracket.
However, unsubstantiated reports from Germany in the last couple of days are suggesting that an agreement to sign the player was reached between the clubs early last week, with Liverpool agreeing to an announcement embargo, allowing Leipzig time to progress talks with replacement targets.
If true, Keita, who was thought to have agreed personal terms with Liverpool several days ago, will join Mo Salah, Dominic Solanke and Andrew Robertson as squad additions as the Anfield club gears up for their 2017/18 domestic and Champions League campaigns.
