Manchester United stars Eric Bailly and Ander Herrera are believed to be unavailable for the Red Devils’ Premier League opener against Leicester City. The duo suffered injuries in the club’s 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich on August 5.

Both Bailly and Herrera suffered their injuries in the second half of the friendly loss. It is believed Herrera suffered a hamstring injury. Depending on the severity of the injury, it could take up to 10 weeks to heal depending on the level of the strain.
Bailly was taken off five minutes into the second half against Bayern. Manager Jose Mourinho didn’t waste time in replacing the defender. Manchester United has had a crisis in defence this preseason with players unavailable.
The club has given up eight goals in six pre-season friendlies. Manchester United won just once in those six fixtures.
Mourinho was recently asked about the Manchester United stars’ fitness for Friday’s Premier League opener but was unable to confirm if the duo is available.
“For our boys, the one that plays lots of minutes was hard once more,” Mourinho explained to MUTV.
“Ander, we don’t know but is between him and Eric. Apart from that, the boys resist and tomorrow for them is a day off and in the week we have to organise that they arrive fresh for Friday.
“Friday is with the players we have and is not a time to cry for the players we won’t be.”
Manchester United have Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, and Ashley Young back in training this week. The trio could make the Red Devils’ squad for the fixture against Leicester. However, Mourinho has not confirmed whether those players will feature or not.
The Red Devils could hold Pogba out of the fixture due to the fresh speculation that he wants to leave the club.
