Manchester United head to Turf Moor on Saturday evening to play Burnley in the Premier League. It is Manchester United’s second game in three days and continues a busy period for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players.
The Red Devils will face Arsenal at the Emirates on New Year’s Day before facing Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup third round and Manchester City in the Carabao Cup first leg semifinal.
Solskjaer will be without four players for Manchester United’s trip to Turf Moor with an additional player possibly making the squad for the match.
Manchester United seek back to back wins
Manchester United are coming off of a Boxing Day 4-1 win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford. It followed a shock 2-0 loss at Vicarage Road to Watford, who was at the bottom of the league on the day.
Manchester United will be without four players who have been ruled out due to injury. Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and Scott McTominay are ruled out heading into the game. Meanwhile, full-back Axel Tuanzebe is to undergo a late fitness test before the match. Rojo could be nearing the Old Trafford exit as Serie A’s Fiorentina are linked with the defender.
The Red Devils go into the fixture in eighth place in the division. Manchester United have taken 28 points from 57 possible. A win against Burnley could take Manchester United into the top five depending on results elsewhere.
Burnley are winless versus Manchester United in their last eight Premier League matches. The Red Devils have won each of their last three matches at Turf Moor. Manchester United’s away record has been poor this term, however.
Solskjaer’s team has obtained just nine points from 27 on the road. They have won just twice in their last six away fixtures. Burnley won their last home fixture and have taken 15 points from 27 at Turf Moor.
