Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini set to leave for free in summer

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini is set to leave the club for free in the summer. The midfielder is out of contract after this season, and has been unable to come to a new deal with the club.

According to The Independent, Fellaini is being tracked by Juventus, Valencia and Besiktas. The Belgian international is likely to join one of the the teams, rather than stay with Manchester United for another season.

Fellaini is still awaiting a second offer from Manchester United, but it isn’t looking likely that it will be one that he will sign. It has been reported to two sides are far apart on the financial aspects of a new deal.

Manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep Fellaini at the club and sees him as a major part of the team. However, the club’s offer thus far hasn’t interested the 30-year-old into staying on at Old Trafford.

Fellaini is reportedly seeking £125,000-a-week. However, Manchester United are not likely to give in to those demands. Fellaini has played 90 minutes just three times this term. There is no reason for Manchester United to agree such a large contract for a backup player. In addition, Fellaini hasn’t played since gameweek 16 this term.

Fantasy impact – Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini has tallied 32 points this season in Fantasy Premier League. A substitute player is the only likely reason FPL managers would have the Manchester United player in their side. Fellaini is mostly a backup for Mourinho’s team, and though he scored 16 points against Crystal Palace, his next best performance was a six point game against Leicester. Fellaini hasn’t played since gameweek 16, so his impact on FPL is minimal at best.
