Liverpool handed Manchester City their first loss of the Premier League season in a fantastic 4-3 affair. Liverpool’s 4-3 win puts the club in a three-way tie for second place. However, Manchester United will play their next fixture Monday evening and can return to sole possession of second place.
Liverpool jumped out to a first half lead through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain only to be pegged back by Leroy Sane’s goal just before halftime. The Reds came out of the break with all guns blazing as Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah tallied goals in the space of nine minutes.
Manchester City made the final 10 minutes a dramatic finish as the team pulled two goals back through Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan. However, the Reds’ defence was able to see out the game for an incredible 4-3 win at Anfield .
Liverpool’s 4-3 win sent social media into overdrive as fans praised the Reds while Pep Guardiola’s side was panned by many.

Liverpool will travel to Swansea for their next match on Monday January 22. Meanwhile, Manchester City will take on Newcastle at the Etihad next Saturday. Guardiola’s team will then follow up their weekend fixture in the Carabao Cup second leg semi-final against Bristol City on Tuesday night January 23.
