Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal Down to Premier League Wire

The Premier League season is down to the wire, and Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all fighting for the final Champions League places. Manchester City and Liverpool have the inside track, and wins will see both qualify. Arsenal must win and get some help from Middlesbrough and/or Watford to make the Champions League.

Arsenal have played in the Champions League every season since 1998-99. It has been a great run of continually finishing in the top four, but it looks like change is on the horizon; or is it?

Arsenal vs. Everton – Prediction 3-1

Arsenal have to win for any hope of qualifying for the Champions League. The team’s current renaissance has come a little too late. Alexis Sanchez had a monster gameweek 37 fantasy performance. The Gunners will need him to do it once again on Sunday. Everton have only won once in their last four games. The Toffees have scored just once in that time.

Burnley vs. West Ham – Prediction 1-1

Neither team are in very good form, and both are coming off of losses. Burnley won the last meeting between the two sides, 1-0. Burnley’s Tom Heaton continues to lead all goalkeepers in Fantasy Premier League points with 148. A draw to end the season seems fair between the two teams.

Chelsea vs. Sunderland – Prediction 3-0

Chelsea have already been crowned champions, but the Blues will want to go out in style at home. Sunderland are relegated, and just want to end the season. The Black Cats should put up very little resistance in this one. Fantasy managers should get themselves one or two Chelsea defenders.

Hull vs. Tottenham – Prediction 0-3

Tottenham are red-hot coming into their final game of the Premier League season. Spurs’ 6-1 win over Leicester midweek once just another in a list of emphatic wins this season. Harry Kane is chasing the golden boot, which he currently leads the race for top spot by two goals over Romelu Lukaku. Tottenham should roll over Hull and cap off a great season.

Leicester vs. Bournemouth – Prediction 0-1

It has been a terrible year for Leicester after the Foxes unexpectedly won the Premier League a year ago. The same players that were turned into world-beaters by Claudio Ranieri have reverted to the average players they were before the Italian’s arrival at the King Power Stadium. The team have greatly under performed, while Bournemouth have once again done better than expected. Josh King is one Bournemouth player that continues to go from strength to strength. He has had a great season tallying 16 goals. Fantasy managers have loved his output.

Liverpool vs. Middlesbrough – Prediction 2-0

Liverpool must win to qualify for the Champions League, and fears of a loss to already relegated Middlesbrough have danced through the head of Reds’ fans all week. Midfielder Philippe Coutinho was in excellent form a week ago, and his play should propel the Reds back into the promise land of Champions League football.

Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace – Prediction 1-1

Manchester United may win the Europa League, but that doesn’t mean the team have been exciting to watch under Jose Mourinho. United haven’t won in the Premier League in their last four matches, and their most recent 0-0 draw against Southampton showed everything football fans hate about Mourinho’s defensive style of football. Without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Red Devils lack a true scorer. At home, Manchester United should get at least a point against Crystal Palace.

Southampton vs. Stoke – Prediction 0-0

Neither team is playing well going into the final game of the season, and both will be looking to get the 90 minutes over. The thought of what could have been is surely on both sets of players’ minds. Stoke have once against turned in a poor season under Mark Hughes. Despite big expectations, Hughes led the team to their fourth straight ninth place or lower finish.

Swansea vs. West Brom – Prediction 2-1

Swansea and West Brom are going in opposite directions. While Swansea have improved under Paul Clement, West Brom have struggled of late; and the Baggies are winless in six straight games. Fernando Llorente is playing his best football of the year, and expectations at Swansea will be high with a full season to come under the management of Clement.

Watford vs. Manchester City – Prediction – 0-4

Watford’s Walter Mazzarri will leave the club at the end of the season as the Hornets’ continue to go through managers like some people go through water. Although safe from relegation, the team can finish 17th in the Premier League, if the two sides below them win on Sunday. Manchester City need a win to guarantee themselves Champions League football. The team’s one-two forward punch of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus should power them into a third place finish without any difficulty.
