After much speculation, it looks like Manchester United will keep goalkeeper David De Gea. According to Spanish media outlets, Real Madrid have moved on from the Spanish goalkeeper and will continue with current goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
De Gea had been interested in a move to the capital club, and was close to sealing a deal to Real Madrid in August 2015. That deal fell through, however. Both sides have kept up interest, but it appears the interest is over for now.
Despite Real Madrid goalkeeper Navas being considered a liability, Zinedine Zidane has stuck with him as his No. 1.
If a move does get resurrected, there could be a possibility of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez moving in the opposite direction. One of the two attackers could be used as part of a swap deal to land the goalkeeper.
Recently, Benfica sold goalkeeper Ederson to Manchester City, making him the most expensive goalkeeper of all-time. If De Gea does leave Old Trafford, his price tag could top the £34.7 million City paid Benfica for their new No. 1.
