European sensation set to join Liverpool FC

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to further strengthen his squad by winning the battle to land Portuguese star Renato Sanches, who is being allowed to leave current club Bayern Munich, likely on a season long loan.

Sanches, who burst onto the scene by helping Portugal to win Euro 16 and was named tournament ‘Golden Boy’ in the process was widely expected to leave Munich and go to Italy to hook up with AC Milan or Juventus….but German publication Bild report that Serie A is no longer an option and the path is clear for Sanches to come to Liverpool.

The Reds have made a steady start to the season, picking up 7 points from their first three games and comfortably qualifying for the Champions League group stages, where they were handed a very favourable draw. Klopp knows he will need more strength in depth to continue to attack his primary targets as well as progress in the domestic Cup competitions.

Swansea had been linked with the versatile midfielder, but that move was never progressed.

Despite a poor season with Munich, where Sanches only completed one full match for Bayern, who marched to another Bundesliga success, and in 25 games didn’t get on the scoresheet. This clearly hasn’t put Liverpool off the player, although Reds fans and Klopp will be hoping for and wanting a much better return, as Sanches looks to rediscover the form that made him such a hit for Portugal.
