Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata has helped raise Real Madrid supporters’ anger as fans have gone crazy over his sale to the Blues. Fans watched Madrid striker Karim Benzema leave the team’s fixture on Saturday with an injury. Supporters are angry that Morata’s sale means there is no high-quality back up to take the Frenchman’s place in the side.
Morata arrived at Chelsea for £55 million during the summer transfer window. Madrid never truly replaced the striker in their squad, and will now pay the price for not adding a back up to Benzema.
Real Madrid are in poor form in La Liga currently. The team have drawn their last two matches and sit fifth on five points. The team are also about to kickoff their defence of the Champions League, which may suffer. Los Blancos will face off against APOEL on Wednesday night.
Thus far, Morata has tallied three goals and two assists for Chelsea since arriving at Stamford Bridge. While Madrid fans have been angry over the striker’s form in the aftermath of the Spanish side’s sale of him, Chelsea supporters have been ecstatic.
What the fans said:
Morata, Bakayoko and Rudiger all seriously excelled today. Three great signings for Chelsea & all have their best years ahead of them.

Morata can now add 'Premier League proven' to his CV and therefore magically exist as a real footballer

Morata was sold to the Blues after spending most of the 2016-17 season as a back up to Benzema. The striker had only returned to Madrid in the summer of 2016 from Juventus, before being shipped off again.
