Manchester City’s Leroy Sane continues to surprise Fantasy Premier League managers. The German international leads FPL players in scoring with 73 points this season.
He has had five double digit gameweeks and has played in all 11 of Manchester City’s games. Sane did have a regression against Arsenal in gameweek 11, but the German should overcome that performance against Manchester City’s upcoming opponents.
Leroy Sane shining amongst stars
Sane was highly prized when Manchester City signed him from Schalke in 2016. Sane spent much of the season bedding in to the side. This year, Sane has acclimatised and is one of Pep Guardiola’s regular players this term.
Sane is not only benefiting from Guardiola’s confidence in him, but he is succeeding thanks to the top players around him. Sane has six goals and five assists. He has already scored more goals this term than last.
One reason Sane has been successful is due to his fantastic decision making. He is quick to react when he has the ball at his feet, and the decisions he has made make him incredibly dangerous on the pitch. Sane is having fun, and in interviews he has credited Guardiola for completely changing his game.
The German is still relatively cheap in terms of FPL points scorers. The forward is only £8.9. He is cheaper than teammates Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, and even rival Mohamed Salah. Perhaps some believe Sane will fall away, and that could be the case after his performance against Arsenal. However, Manchester City have a favourable run of fixtures up next. Leicester, Huddersfield, Southampton and West Ham are to come before the Manchester Derby in December.
