Best attackers for gameweek 5

premier league, fantasy football, fpl, fantasy sports

Last week’s English Premier League featured 34 goals, and no game ended nil-nil. In fact, only three of the Premier League’s 10 matches ended with a clean sheet.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa drew level with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the league lead in goals with four. However, a dark horse in Michail Antonio also equalled the four-goal mark.

With goals to be scored this week, here are five attacking players to get into your Fantasy Premier League team for gameweek 5.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes the cut for the second straight week. The Swede leads Manchester United in goals this season with four tallies.

The Red Devils will play Watford in gameweek 5, a team that have conceded eight goals this season. Prone to give away goals, Ibrahimovic should have a big day. Games: 4; Goals: 4; Assists: 0

Kelechi Iheanacho – Manchester City

With Sergio Aguero still absent from the Premier League, Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to start in Pep Guardiola’s XI. The teenager excelled with a goal and an assist last week in the Manchester derby.

He is hot and in form right now, which means he deserves a spot in your Fantasy Premier League team. City should run riot against Bournemouth at the weekend. The Blues outscored Bournemouth 9-1 last season, so expect more of the same. Games: 3; Goals: 1; Assists: 2

Romelu Lukaku – Everton

In form and extremely dangerous, Romelu Lukaku is crying out to be selected for your fantasy side. Lukaku scored a hat-trick last week against Sunderland in a man of the match performance.

Middlesbrough haven’t given up many goals this season (4). However, Everton are clicking on all cylinders as Ronald Koeman has changed the team’s style from the drab Toffies that Roberto Martinez coached a season ago into an entertaining team. Games: 3; Goals 3; Assists: 0

Christian Benteke – Crystal Palace

Christian Benteke has only played twice since moving to Crystal Palace. Last weekend, he tallied his first goal of the season against Middlesbrough.

In gameweek 5, Benteke will face the Premier League’s worst defence. Stoke City have given up 10 goals this term, and Benteke, if he gets the service, should add another goal to his season’s tally.

In addition, Crystal Palace haven’t lost to Stoke in their last six fixtures, so get Benteke in your side. Games: 2; Goals: 1; Assists: 0

Diego Costa – Chelsea

Diego Costa will feature in gameweek 5’s first match, which will take place on Friday evening at Stamford Bridge.

Costa will face Liverpool, who’s defence is still shaky. Liverpool have given up seven goals this season so far.

Costa has scored four already and the bruising Spaniard is a good choice to get his fifth on Friday evening. Games: 4; Goals: 4; Assists 1

Bonus attacker:

Leroy Fer – Swansea City

Leroy Fer is having a breakout season in the English Premier League. After four matches, the Dutchman has tallied three goals.

Last week, Fer scored a stellar goal against Chelsea, helping the Swans to a 2-2 draw.

This week, he faces Southampton, a team in the bottom three. Fer is a wildcard choice for your fantasy football team, but he is good value to add a goal for cheap. Games: 4; Goals: 3; Assists: 0
